Website for the Child Nutrition Academy Foundation

This project was delivered pro bono for a non-profit organization. Design decisions were based on Nielsen’s usability heuristics and UX best practices. I also ensured compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines.

PROBLEM

The organization lacked an effective website that supported its key goals, such as attracting donors and building trust. The absence of clear communication and structured content made it difficult for users to understand the mission and take action.

SOLUTION

The solution was to design a user-centered website focused on clarity, trust, and action. By improving the information architecture, strengthening calls-to-action, and incorporating storytelling, the design guides users to understand the mission and take meaningful action.

Many websites lack a clear information hierarchy and user flow, leading to cognitive overload and low user engagement

Accessibility Decision

Color Accessibility Decision

BEFORE

Brand colors on text and buttons did not meet WCAG accessibility guidelines. Low contrast made content hard to read for some users.

AFTER

Adjusted shades slightly to maintain the original brand identity while improving contrast and accessibility.

Accessible Partner Slider

Added Play/Pause controls to the partner logo slider to meet WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Users can now pause the animation, ensuring readability and accessibility for everyone while keeping the dynamic design intact
